Tonight this…Gets replaced by this. I so admire what PawPaw was able to accomplish with the tools he had. I’m finding I’m not skilled enough to use some of them an get the results I need.
Keep in mind, what Pawpaw was using was probably just as sophisticated to him as your new tool is to you. He certainly was a gifted craftsman, as are you!
Fair enough. And some of them are just wearing out. This lift for example had screws sheer off and just stop working. All the tools I’ve purchased I fully understand and know how to maintain. Some of his I don’t and none of them seem to have been well maintained. I’m not using anything I feel is unsafe, just need to learn how to care for some tools about as old as I am.
I do not doubt they may not have been maintained very well. I know Pawpaw did not maintain his lawnmower….at least not to the standards Dad did. I would imagine he really didn’t know how to do so….or didn’t want to be bothered. I am very glad you are not using anything that isn’t safe….the things you are working with demand respect and care….or the results are unthinkable.
