I try to keep political views close(ish)to the vest, yet this is my journaling space. Never in my life have I known a US leader so fundamentally unqualified for the job nor so morally bankrupt.
There are literally hundreds of moments over the past four years where this has been proven out, not by biased media commentary, but by his own literal words and actions. The single breaking point for me was the separation of children from their parents. Today, 545 kids are STILL orphaned due to the policies of this administration. Many will never be reunited.
My president did that. That, for me, is unforgivable. More than the inept handling of this pandemic, more than his compliancy after Charlottesville, more than his chronic dishonesty, more than the impeachment charges, more than his disgusting comments in the treatment of women, this one act is my line in the sand. I am very glad to see him removed. I pray he (nor anyone) never knows the lifelong pain he has caused those children and their parents.
